Smartphone-Operated Smart Farm Watering System Using Long-Range Communication Technology

Abstract Keeping proper soil moisture is essential in growing good quality and efficient fruit yield. To that effect, level must be controlled, to maintain watering. A smartphone application was developed operate a smart farm watering system. It monitors the soil’s launches sprayers water dried areas. The system’s architecture built distributed client-server computing system, small grid. grid across long range (LoRa) communication networks with same ID, but different addresses. In terms of integration, system using autonomous microprocessors, which consist server five client microprocessors. used as central controller, four detection modules spraying module were clients. inter-connected clients via star-type topology network polling processes. Each autonomously analyzes measured digital voltage sensor plugged into soil. When sends queries regarding status level, request signal LoRa technology. between based on LoRa-to-Bluetooth converter connect Bluetooth signal. field test performed watermelon field, an area approximately 6600 m 2 . constructed technology could successfully manage control test.
